A field of flowers created from plastic waste I removed from the Moroccan Sahara. salvage is a testament to transformation. The flowers fragile appearance conceals the belligerent permanence of the materials from which they’re made.
I found out, near the end of my stay, the remaining plastic I spent weeks collecting was most likely burnt, not recycled. I dedicate this work to our enduring struggle to contend with the persistence useful, non-degradable waste.
